PUBLIC RELATIONS / TRAINING

Our training facility can accommodate up to 100 people and can be sectioned off into two or four equally sized rooms if needed.   Multimedia presentation resources are also available.  The versatility of this facility makes it an ideal meeting place for large or small groups and is available for use as a training or meeting center for your company or organization.  It can also be used for birthday parties, showers, Christenings, etc.  Please call Lil Johnson at (856)825-5063 ext 524 or email her at ljohnson@millvillerescue.org to discuss the availability of the training center for your meeting or party needs.

Now that we are in our new facility, we regularly offer EMT classes, Community CPR classes, babysitting classes and first aid instruction.  Check this website often to see the latest schedules or call Lillian Johnson for more information at (856) 825-5063 x 524 or e-mail her at LJohnson@millvillerescue.org.

Tours for School Children -We are pleased to give tours of our new rescue squad facility to school children in the area.  The children seem to enjoy the tours especially the slide and the ambulance tours.  If you are interested in a tour for your class, please call Lillian Johnson at (856) 825-5063 ext 524 or e-mail her at ljohnson@mrsems.com.

On the first day of class you will be asked to sign a copy of the rules and regulations of the class.  We wanted to make you aware of a couple of these rules before you signed up for the class.

You are not allowed to miss class.  All classes must be attended.  If you miss a class you must make it up and that could be at another EMT class that would probably be very far away.  If you miss more than three classes you will automatically be dropped from class.  This is a state regulation and we are required to follow it.  Remember also that most Saturdays are considered two classes.

You must maintain a 70% average.  At the end of each module you will be required to complete a module exam.  There are 7 exams.  If you fail it you will have an attempt to retake it.  Again this is a state regulation.  Also, it is a requirement of the class to complete a workbook which will be graded periodically during the class and there will also be quizzes.

You will have to participate in “hands on” skill sessions, which will involve:

Lifting and Moving, touching and assessing “patients,” being a “patient” during skill sessions, properly applying/using the necessary equipment

You will be tested in several skill components as a state requirement for this class.

In addition to the classroom time, you will also be required to do a total of 10 hours hospital time separate from the class.  This will began approx 2/3 through the class and scheduled through the academy at your convenience.

As a prerequisite for this class you will have to take CPR healthcare provider level class with us prior to class.  The dates of the classes are included in the registration.  The cost of the class will be $15.00.  You must attend one of the CPR classes in order to start EMT class.

The academy wanted to make everyone is aware of these rules so they know if they will be able to fulfill them ahead of time.  If you have any questions, please contact me.

Thank you,

Lillian Johnson

Director of Training
